Rice Kheer

Rice kheer  is an easy to cook dessert of India. Cooked in almost every house hold this mouth watering dessert is loved by people of all genres. Served in all Indian restaurants of Melbourne, rice kheer is admired for its superlative and creamy taste.

Cooked rice: 1 cup
Milk: 2 cups
Cream: 1/3 cup
Sugar: 2 tbsp
Cardamom powder: 1/2 tsp
Ghee: 1 tsp


  • Cook one cup of rice in a pressure cooker.
  • Take a non stick pan, add rice, milk and cream and put on simmer flame.
  • Keep stirring for 10 minutes.
  • Add sugar, ghee and cardamom powder in the pan.
  • Cook well so that sugar dissolves well.
  • Wait till milk boils.
  • You can also add nuts like cashew, almond and raisins in it.
  • Serve hot.
