  • Large boneless chicken thighs - 4
  • Butter – 40g
  • Pure vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Tandoori masala - 2 teaspoons
  • Garam masala -1 teaspoon
  • Curry powder - 2 teaspoons
  • Indian curry paste – 1
  • Tomato paste - 140g
  • Minced cloves garlic - 3
  • Diced onion- 1
  • Coconut milk - 1 tin
  • Green cardamom pods - 15
  • Plain yoghurt - 1 cup
  • Pinch salt - to taste
  • Directions

    Start with melting butter and vegetable oil in a fry pan. Put it on medium heat. Now stir in the chicken with garlic and onion. Keep it on heat until onion becomes softened and turned into translucent. This might take about 10-12 minutes. Now mix curry paste and powder with garam masala and tandoori masala. Add tomato paste until no lumps of tomato paste remain.

    Now pour into a slow cooker and stir in the coconut milk and cardamom pods with yoghurt coconut milk and yoghurt, add salt to taste.

    Cook on high for about 4 to 6 hours if you prefer to cook on low, keep it on for 6 to 8 hours until the chicken is tender and the sauce has reduced to your desired consistency.  Your butter chicken is ready! Remove and discard the cardamom pods before serving.
